Introduction

(簡介)

The Department of  Vehicle  Engineering at Nan Kai University of Technology was founded in 1971. Only five-year junior-college program was offered. In 2001 and 2008, then Nan Kai University of Technology was transformed into a college and a university, respectively. The department currently offers a 4-year undergraduate program that enrolls about 150 students annually. Currently major areas are grouped into two divisions, namely: Precision Machinery Group, and Vehicle Technology Group. The department aims continuously to train outstanding Mechanical Engineering personnel with a balanced knowledge of theory and practice. In addition to the undergraduate program, the department in 2008 started offering graduate program for a Master's degree, which enrolls 15 students annually. The master degree program combines aspects of precision and micro machining, and electromechanical vehicle engineering.

Curriculum

Planning

(課程規劃)

The department provides for two major specialties of courses: precision machining and creative design, and vehicle technology and service management. According to the core courses of the department and industrial development demand, there are three curriculum modules for each specialty. creative design, precise manufacturing, and quality and factory management for precision machining and creative design；automobile repairing and troubleshooting technology, vehicle R&D, automobile marketing management for vehicle technology and service management.

Faculty(師資)

Our department currently has 18 full-time faculties, including 3 professors, 10 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, and 2 instructors. Their specialties include design and mechanics, manufacturing, thermal science and fluid mechanics, and vehicle mechanical and electrical engineering.

Advanced Studies

The graduates of this department may continue advanced studies concerning precision technology, electromechanical vehicle system and other related fields.

Employment

The graduates from the department can be employed as the following positions:

1.     Creative product design engineer, CAD/CAM engineer, molding design engineer，mechanism design engineer, and factory management engineer.

2.     Automobile technician, vehicle design engineer, automobile manufacture engineer, automotive marketing manager, and workshop management engineer.
